An Australian bride has defended her ‘naked’ wedding dress after being criticized for showing ‘an excessive amount of’ skin on her big day.
Model, actress and influencer Ellie Gonsalves wore three dresses at her lavish two-day wedding in March.
The 33-12 months-old wore a long-sleeved gown with a sheer neckline and dramatic train for a private ceremony with only her longtime partner Ross Scutts of their Gold Coast hometown.
The following day, Ellie threw a party surrounded by a wedding party and other guests, where she wore two dresses, Australian Vogue reported.
She initially began the party in a strapless white dress with floral detailing and a thigh slit – but later Ellie “surprised” her latest husband by wearing something more revealing.
“My husband’s face when he saw me on this dress at our wedding,” she captioned the clip recently shared on TikTok and Instagram.

In the video, Ellie is seen walking out the door wearing a white mini dress made from sheer tulle and strategically placed lace.
The “naked” corset-style dress had a good higher thigh slit than her earlier set – which Ellie had paired with a pair of silver strappy heels.
Although the bride and her groom clearly loved the outfit change, it didn’t take long for social media users to ponder her final dress alternative, flooding the video with wild comments.

Ellie has now fired back critics, hitting one who described her as “fast and loose” on her wedding day.
“The one thing that is fast and loose was your mom’s hands when she dropped you on her head as a baby,” she replied in the comments section.
She then shared a screenshot of her comment on Instagram and added: “What’s that phrase? Should you give it away, be prepared for it? I cannot imagine persons are so offended by a wedding dress.”
Ellie also told others to “let it go” and said her husband “loved” her outfit.
“FFs make you are feeling higher girl. It’s a wedding dress for somebody you don’t know. Do not like it, change the channel. It’s that easy, she said.

Lots of her 1.2 million followers also rushed to her defense, asking why others were so “offended” by the outfit.
“Why is it that ‘women can wear whatever makes them completely happy’, etc.
“For those judging by her attire and moral concern for what a wedding means… She didn’t plan your dream day, she planned hers. It looks amazing,” agreed one other.
As one other noted, “People speak about ‘no intimate privacy’ as in the event that they don’t wear less clothes at the beach or pool. Growing up. That is her day, not yours.”
Nonetheless, this didn’t stop the surge of criticism, with some claiming that the minidress was “too sexy” and “too revealing” for a wedding.
“Not very elegant for a wedding … my dear” – one was indignant.

“I’d be so embarrassed if I were your husband,” one other disgruntled user wrote.
As one lamented, “I’m sorry, but this will not be a good wedding dress. Dress modestly!”
“That is insanely inappropriate,” another person chimed in.
“NO. Just not,” wrote one.
Ellie worked with designer Sam Oglialoro and stylist Paul Versace on three of her wedding dresses, Australian Vogue reported.
“We got married as we began, just him and me. We have fun our love in the most original way we could consider,” she told the publication.
