One Direction won’t have ‘Midnight Memories’ on ‘The Late Late Show’.
Whispers of a boy band reunion for the final episode of James Corden’s late-night show circulated and were pushed even further when reports Mirror rumors had it that they’d reunited as an entire.
But the show quickly shut down the speculation on its official Twitter account.
“No one loves boys greater than we do… but this story just is not true” the tweet said. “The reality is, we have now a completely good 2 hour final scheduled to have fun 8 years of #LateLateShow at 10pm on April twenty seventh.”
One Direction – consisting of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik – officially announced they were taking a “hiatus” in 2016, a yr after Malik left the band and made the five-man crew a 4.
Although the band said they’d be on an 18-month hiatus, they never reunited and all members pursued solo careers.
Corden has been a longtime fan and supporter of One Direction, and the boys have made multiple appearances on the show, including the “Carpool Karaoke” segment. Styles, 29, and Horan, 29, were guests on the show for several weeks during their solo careers and were guest hosts of the show in Corden’s absence.

Corden announced his departure from “The Late Late Show” in April 2022, just before renewing his contract for an eighth and final yr.
The last airing of the nightly show is scheduled for April 27 – and CBS plans to air a primetime special on the same night to say goodbye.
Corden, who has hosted the show since March 2015, will likely be joined by 60-year-old Tom Cruise for an enormous skit during the special.

Recently, CBS revealed that after nearly three many years, the network will end the franchise with Corden’s departure. They’re expected to replace the timeslot with Comedy Central’s “@midnight” reboot, executive produced by “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert, according to the deadline.
Corden is the fourth and final host of The Late Late Show.
