“I used restorative justice to permit for healing, accountability, and growth with the opposite person,” she says Pride and Prejudice the actress went further. “It was a difficult process, but I think it really helped me through probably the most difficult stages of my grief.”
She also detailed her healing process in one other Instagram response, noting that she “did lots of research online” and would someday “try to write down the method I used” when she was ready.
“What got me there was a sense that did not keep me on the ‘trip’ of somebody using the normal culture of cancellation that was created,” she said. “I also don’t fully understand how the criminal justice system could fully fix my healing, although I think it will probably assist in some ways. All of this leads me to use restorative justice, principally a damage repair system, to check with the opposite party involved and ask for my healing journey and really just be heard.”
Noting that the strategy “wasn’t perfect” and that she could “use the assistance of many teachers who practice restorative justice in mediation settings”, Jena recalled that she “needed to do it herself”.
In one other comment that said, “A fellow survivor who loves you,” Jena sent back a heartfelt message.
