About Jennifer Guzman
As a key figure in Chicago’s business community, I’m dedicated to mentoring small and middle-market businesses, with a concentrate on women and communities of color. My upbringing by a Mexican immigrant father and Jewish grandparents instilled in me the values of labor, community support, and giving back, shaping my approach as a business leader.
I’m a firm believer in the power of relationships and trust. My ability to listen and form real connections has significantly impacted my work with various firms, clients, and boards. With over twenty years in HR and Client/Worker Experience, I’ve helped businesses from large corporations to family-owned firms. I emphasize a holistic approach to worker well-being, believing it naturally enhances client experiences.
At EmPower HR, as Vice President, I led Client and Worker Experience, growing our client base from 150 to 500. This experience deepened my passion for the SMB community, leading me to ascertain Bestola Consulting. My firm aids small businesses in aligning their purpose with their output, streamlining processes, and enhancing people experiences for higher delivery and satisfaction.
I’m also actively involved in Chicago’s community, serving as HR Committee Chair for the Board of Chicago Community Loan Fund, Chair of the Board for PODER, and Vice President of the Board for SUM, all organizations dedicated to empowering local communities and immigrants.
