Near, far, wherever you’re, Kate Winslet won’t let the Titanic debate proceed.
Kate Winslet, 47, expressed her opinion on Saturday about the Titanic’s infamous door debate, drawing on her experience of rowing aboard during appears on the Comfortable Sad Confused podcast.
The talk, which has been occurring for nearly 25 years since the film’s release, first surfaced during James Cameron’s climactic Titanic scene where Rose (played by Winslet) lies on a shattered door, leaving her beloved Jack (played by Leo DiCaprio) behind ) freezes in water.
Several individuals who watched the 1997 film claimed that if Rose had moved, each she and Jack would have survived.
“I do not fucking know. Here’s the answer. I do not fucking know, Winslet said angrily. “Look, all I can inform you is that I actually have a good idea of water and the way it behaves”
The ‘Avatar’ actress revealed she has backgrounds in paddleboarding, diving and kitesurfing.
“If you happen to put two adults on a stand-up paddle board, it immediately becomes very unstable. That is for sure,” Winslet explained.
Winslet – who has also previously expressed the opinion that each she and DiCaprio could fit on the door – said it really got here all the way down to keeping the raft afloat.
“I’ve got to be honest: I do not actually imagine we might have survived if we might each made it to that door,” the actress mused. “I believe it will fit, nevertheless it would fall over and it would not be a sustainable idea.”
