Should an old acquaintance be forgotten and never mentioned?
Not in the event you’re Kathy Griffin.
In what has grow to be a bitter New Year’s Eve tradition, Griffin clip on Saturday Bravo honcho Andy Cohen pretending to not know her in 2017 after replacing her as New Year’s Eve co-host on CNN.
“Ugh. Every year someone sends me this clip around New Years,” Griffin, 62, wrote.
“This guy was my boss for years. I’ve decided if I work at Bravo. Are you able to imagine your former boss at TMZ like this? Ouch! Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing Miley and Dolly tonight.”
The Post contacted Cohen’s representative for comment on Saturday.
In an October 2017 clip that garnered 13,000 likes on Griffin’s Gram inside hours on Saturday, a TMZ reporter questions Cohen about landing a concert alongside Anderson Cooper.
“Did you discuss with Kathy in any respect in the meantime?” Did you submit it to her first before accepting it? a reporter asks him, to which Cohen replies, “Who?”
“Kathy Griffin!” repeats the interviewer, to which he replies again: “Who?”
“I do not know her,” says Cohen, 54.
When a reporter tries to elucidate who he means by “Kathy Griffin” – describing her as a “former host” – he cannot consider the talk show host refuses to confess that he knows his former colleague. Cohen says he doesn’t know why that is new to him, flashing a goofy smile for the camera.
Then, admitted the host of “Watch what’s happening live.” tried – failed – Mariah Carey Impression.
Griffin co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s special for nearly a decade before being faraway from the broadcast in 2017.
The outspoken comedian was fired after a photograph of him holding a fake severed head that resembled Donald Trump’s head circulating on the web. Griffin lost several famous friends, including Cohen.
She he has been calling Cohen ever since “one in all the worst bosses I’ve ever had” and claimed he “treated me like a dog”. From 2005 to 2013 on Bravo, Griffin wore many hats, including starring in the reality show “My Life on the D-List” and hosting his own talk show, “Kathy”.
She continued her beef earlier this year, revealing that “viewed with hatredCohen and Cooper rings in 2022.
In years past, Cooper and Cohen would fire shots from behind on the air, disappearing as the clock struck midnight. But apparently they each start dry January one night early – they will not eat alcohol during their broadcast, which will likely be stuffed with drunken antics.
“We do not drink, but we’ll party,” Cohen said page six this week.
As for Griffin, she guarantees to observe the couple she loves as a substitute this year: Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus. The long-lasting duo will kick off New Year’s Eve on NBC and Peacock — which country star Parton guarantees will likely be ‘legendary’.
