Kevin Costner’s wife, handbag designer Christine Baumgartner, has filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage to the “Yellowstone” star, The Post has learned.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have come to light that resulted in Mr Costner having to attend the wedding dissolution proceedings,” a representative for the 68-year-old actor – already embroiled in the continuing Paramount Network drama show – confirmed to The Post.
“We ask that his, Christine’s and their kid’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” the representative added.
The couple have three children: Cayden Wyatt, 15; Hayes Logan, 14; and Grace Avery, 12.
Baumgartner, 49, asks for joint custody of the kids, In keeping with TMZ report.
Costner allegedly filed his response on Tuesday, during which he also asked for joint custody.
In keeping with TMZ, Baumgartner is not asking for spousal support, although Costner’s response, filed by divorce attorney Laura Wasser, reportedly states that there was a prenuptial agreement: “Spouse support payable to the petitioner under the terms of the parties’ prenuptial agreement.”

Costner’s marriage to Baumgartner was his second.
The My Bodyguard star previously married actress Cindy Silva, now 66, in 1978 and had three children: Annie, now 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35, and divorced in 1994.
He also has a son, Liam, now 27, with actress Bridget Rooney, 61.
For months, Costner had been engrossed in one other drama – behind-the-scenes – on “Yellowstone,” which The Post previously reported would end after five seasons amid alleged tension between the actor and series creator Taylor Sheridan, 52.
Rumors of a cancellation surfaced earlier this 12 months over alleged shooting scheduling disagreements that reportedly caused morale issues between Costner and other actors within the series, which also stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham.
Early last month, Paramount executive Keith Cox hinted that Costner could still return to Western drama.
“I can say that our star, the face of our show and the chief producer are very confident that he’ll proceed our show,” Cox said on the event, in keeping with the report.
Sheridan’s hit show spawned several spin-offs, including “1883,” starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill; “1923” with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren; the upcoming “6666” and one other yet-to-be-titled spinoff starring Matthew McConaughey.
