Investor and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary said Friday that America’s blue states are “uninvestable” due to laws passed by politicians, and joked that Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is “great in killing jobs.”
The business tycoon appeared on CNN This Morning to debate the state of the economy after the recent US jobless claims figures fell, showing positive signs of low recent jobless claims.
O’Leary said the numbers combined with the 4 percent unemployment rate create a “remarkable economy” where “we’re hiring daily and competing daily.”
The tycoon identified an interesting drawback of the post-pandemic economy – people not need to work in an office, because lots of them have change into accustomed to working from home or have entered the labor market throughout the pandemic and have never set foot in an office.
This telecommuting boom caused one other major shift in the brand new economy that he claimed “no person knew about.” He said, “This can be a rivalry between states.”

O’Leary mentioned that he and other investors are selecting not to speculate or grow their corporations in blue states like Latest York or California anymore because they’re terrible business environments.
He said: “I not place corporations here in Latest York, Massachusetts, Latest Jersey or California. You can not put money into these states. The politics here is crazy. Taxes are too high. We put them in Fargo, North Dakota, because 40% of the people work elsewhere, including Boston.”
He described a debate he had with Socialist Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), claiming, “I say, ‘Look, Senator, we have now to maneuver businesses out of your state because you’ll be able to not be invested in.’ You punish people in the event that they are successful, you overcharge them, you hit them with a brilliant tax. Latest Jersey, what a multitude! Latest York, not for investment.
CNN This Morning hosts Poppy Harlow and Don Lemon asked their guest if it was worse than high taxes. O’Leary confirmed this by claiming, “Oh, the regulatory environment is punishable.”

“I had a project in upstate Latest York behind the electrical grid in Niagara Falls – a world data center we were constructing. Eventually it got so bad with local politicians and state policy that we moved it to Norway and all jobs,” O’Leary said.
“It’s Latest York. Not for investment,” he declared, adding, “Sorry, don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just telling you ways it’s.
Presenter Kaitlin Collins responded that there would definitely be “a backlash from our elected officials in Latest York on this matter.”
O’Leary fired back, saying “I’ll debate them any time of the day, especially with AOC.” He then set fire to the “Squad” member’s economic policies on air, saying, “She’s great at killing jobs. It’s killing 1000’s of jobs.”
The investor raised AOC efforts to forestall Amazon from establishing a second Latest York headquarters in Queens. Job Creators Network CEO Alfredo Ortiz told Fox News Digital in 2020 that her campaign cost town “25,000 well-paying jobs” and that it “sent a message to job creators around the globe that they are not any longer welcome in her city”.
“Where did Amazon take their work? They took them from her. She threatened them with a lawsuit in the event that they created jobs. I mean, that is reality,” O’Leary asked.
Harlow tried to defend the congresswoman by replying, “There’s more to it, but let’s not discuss that again.”
“Well, , I’m sorry, I’m just telling the reality,” O’Leary said.
