Parents within the UK have been outraged after a sequence of nursing schools within the country sent out a handbook urging parents not to call their daughters “beautiful” or “princess”.
“They obviously have very leftist views on gender politics and feel they’ve the fitting to tell parents how to address their daughters and what to teach them about their bodies,” reports Express, one in all the parents of a toddler in Brilliant Horizons. Brilliant Horizons is one in all the UK’s largest nursery providers, operating a whole bunch of nurseries and preschools across the UK.
Brilliant Horizons parents have been given what the UK media describes as an ‘awake’ manual, advising parents to avoid gendered language and not to praise their children for good behaviour.
“It’s extremely easy to fall into the pattern of praising a woman’s appearance (“You look so pretty!”), calling her behavior “good” or congratulating her when she does something perfectly,” the manual reads, according to Express. . As an alternative, the guide encourages parents to “rethink” how they raise their daughters.
Parents are also urged to “eliminate gender-related references to a toddler, equivalent to ‘princess’ or ‘tomboy’, or phrases equivalent to ‘Young ladies don’t behave that way’.”
The guide goes on to advise parents to concentrate on the gender language their family may encounter and to fill their homes with “books, toys and decorations that do not conform to specific gender roles”.

An unidentified mother speaking out against the textbook said she received it via email and slammed Brilliant Horizons for politicizing preschools.
“Brilliant Horizons dictates to parents their very own political opinions on raising children,” the Kent mum told the Express.
Brilliant Horizons was founded in the US in 1986 as a childcare company for working parents. Since then, the academic group has grown to include greater than 700 centers within the US and Canada, and greater than 300 within the UK, according to the group’s website.
The previous British education minister also denounced the guide as “silly advice”.
“This silly advice from Brilliant Horizons will darken the horizons of little girls who cannot be called pretty or dress up as princesses and just enjoy their childhood like girls for generations,” former Tory education minister Sir John Hayes told the Each day Mail after the news of the guide spread.
“We must let children be children and value their innocence and stop lecturing them.”
A spokesperson for Brilliant Horizons described the guide as one that may help parents raise their daughters to be “confident leaders”.
“It’s each parent’s personal alternative as to when, where and whom to turn to for advice. For those in search of ideas to empower their daughters to grow up to be strong, confident leaders free from potentially harmful gender stereotypes, we provide advice that encourages you to give attention to a woman’s characteristics aside from her physical appearance,” Brilliant Horizons said. on Fox News Digital.
