Josh Duhamel has given rare insight into why his marriage with “London Bridge” singer Fergie got here falling down.
The “Secure Haven” actor, 50, confessed Wednesday that the media attention surrounding his relationship with Fergie, 48, was “so much” for him to handle.
“I don’t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it,” the North Dakota native said during an interview on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger.”
“I just missed the simplicity of who I actually am, you realize?” Duhamel continued. “I’m just not a man who’s comfortable going to red carpets, doing all the Hollywood stuff.”
The Post has contacted reps for Fergie.
Duhamel and Fergie were married from 2009 to 2019. They share a son, Axl Jack, who turned 10 last month.
While they ultimately didn’t work out as lovers, Duhamel still had nothing but great things to say about the Black Eyed peas alum.
“I made peace with that a part of my life. She and I actually have an incredible relationship,” he explained. “There wasn’t anything incorrect with it. We had an incredible time. I feel we type of outgrew one another and had very different interests.”
For instance, Duhamel recalled knowing that he desired to move back to North Dakota as he got older, but knew “this shouldn’t be” the right life for the pop star.
“I’ve got no hard feelings for it. I actually don’t,” he claimed. “I’m very lucky that she’s a sort human.”
Duhamel has since fulfilled his dream of ditching Los Angeles and heading back home to the Peace Garden State.
“It just took me an extended time to essentially feel like I belong, like I slot in,” Duhamel said of the City of Angels.
“Having this place out here [in North Dakota], really allows me to get back to that child that fell in love with nature. Fell in love with the outdoors and being creative and just being energetic.”
Duhamel and his wife, Audra Mari, are now expecting their first child together.
“I’m truly completely satisfied for you guys,” Fergie commented on the couple’s Instagram announcement. “Axl can’t wait to be a giant brother.”
