Clay Gravesande and AD Smith: Not Together
While Clay expressed his hesitation to getting married resulting from his own outlook on his father’s infidelity, AD reassured him that they might prevail as a pair and all gave the impression to be well between the 2.
But once faced with the duty of claiming I do to eternally on the altar, Clay said I don’t as an alternative, telling AD that it wouldn’t be “responsible” of him to get married knowing he wasn’t ready.
Cue the shock.
“I’m going to place the work in for you,” he told AD, “and we’ll undergo this together. I don’t care what no one says; I do know fully I’m not ready for marriage and you deserve the very best. And if I’m not ready to offer you 100%, I won’t go there with you once I’m not ready…I can’t say yes at once.”
It was a revelation that made AD declare through tears that the connection was a waste of her “f–king time.”
As for Clay, he also revealed that financial—and emotional—ties played a giant part in him walking away. “I checked out myself within the mirror and said, ‘Am I a husband?’” he admitted, “and the reply was no. Am I deeply in love? The reply was no.’”
Throughout the reunion, Clay expressed that he made a mistake and wanted to this point AD, but she played coy on if she’d ever consider getting back together.
AD confessed that she did go on a pair dates with costar Matthew Duliba after filming wrapped, but they should not together.
