McDonald’s intends to make some sales-boosting improvements to classic menu items: this includes the cheeseburger, double cheeseburger and hamburger, in addition to the Big Mac and McDouble burger.
McUpgrades include “softer, fluffier” golden brown buns, stickier cheese, and a “juicier, caramelized” flavor since the onions will probably be placed on the patties while they’re still on the grill.
“We found that small changes like tweaking our process to get hotter, more melting cheese and adjusting grill settings for higher searing made a giant difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever,” Chef Chad Schafer, Sr. McDonald’s director of culinary innovation, said Monday wa (*4*)statement.
The Big Mac is also getting spicier because the item will probably be stewed in additional Big Mac sauce.
Previously, the brand new burgers were available in Australia, Belgium and Canada, and within the US they’re being tested in and around Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Tucson, Arizona, Portland, Oregon, and Sacramento, California.
