McDonald’s announced changes to a few of its hottest menu items last week, affecting Big Mac and McDouble amongst others.
The fast food giant says the changes will make its best burgers taste higher.
According to McDonald’s, the improvements boil down to 4 major changes: higher, softer buns, consistently melted cheese, higher fried patties, and, most easily, more Big Mac sauce.
The chain says it has also began adding white onions to the patties as they burn to enhance the flavour.
“I’ll all the time remember my first McDonald’s burger. And now my culinary team and I even have the perfect job on the planet: determining how to provide fans with much more of that iconic McDonald’s taste,” McDonald’s U.S. Senior Director of Culinary Innovation, Chad Schafer, said in an announcement.
“We have found that small changes, akin to tweaking our process to get hotter, more meltable cheese and adjusting grill settings for higher searing, made an enormous difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever,” he added.

Many shops in the world are said to be participating as well.
US markets aren’t the primary to try upgraded versions of McDonald’s classics.
The network tested the changes in Australia, Canada and Belgium last yr.
McDonald’s hopes to roll out burger upgrades across all stores by 2024.
