The body of a missing paddleboarder passenger was found nearby Barack AND Michelle Obamais the home of Martha’s Vineyard.
Massachusetts State Police said divers recovered the body from the Edgartown Great Pond, based on a July 24 report Press Release. He was identified as a 45-year-old Tafari Campbell of Dumfries, Va.
In line with Massachusetts police, on the time of his death, Campbell was employed by the Obamas and was visiting Martha’s Vineyard. In line with authorities, neither the previous president nor the primary lady were within the residence on the time of the incident.
The Obamas mourned the lack of Campbell in a joint statement, describing the chef as “a beloved a part of our family.”
“Once we first met him, he was a talented White House Assistant Chef – creative and obsessed with food and his ability to bring people together,” read their statement to NBC News. “Within the years that followed, we got here to know him as a warm, funny, extremely kind one that made our lives slightly brighter.”
