NBA Commissioner Adam Silver gave a vote of confidence to the league’s No. 1 overall pick Victor Wemanyama on Thursday after a bizarre encounter with pop star Britney Spears.
The San Antonio Spurs tall rookie was within the highlight last week after the “Toxic” singer claimed certainly one of Wembanyama’s bodyguards slapped her within the face when she tried to approach him at a Las Vegas restaurant.

Silver said Wembanyama will learn find out how to calmly attract media attention – and stressed that he has a robust supporting solid around him.
“Truthfully, the league is determined by media coverage,” said Silver. “It’ll adapt to it as time goes on. Given the time I’ve spent with him, I believe he’s ready for it.
“I actually have great confidence within the San Antonio Spurs and the Players Association who proceed to work with him,” added Silver.

Wembanyama will start his first season within the NBA as one of the vital closely watched prospects within the league in years and can likely be a big tie in TV rankings.
