NBCUniversal’s head of worldwide advertising Linda Yaccarino has resigned, the corporate announced on Friday.
The announcement comes a day after Elon Musk said via Twitter there could be a recent CEO of the social networking site, although he didn’t name the brand new person. Musk said in his tweet that the person would start work in about six weeks.
CNBC’s Julia Boorstin reported, citing sources, that Yaccarino was in advanced talks for the role.
Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal in 2011 and has risen to the highest of the corporate’s global advertising business. On Monday, the head of advertising was scheduled to attend the NBCUniversal Upfront event at Radio City – a sales presentation that the corporate and its media partners present to the advertising industry every May.
The longtime CFO brings to Twitter a wealth of relationships with CMOs and other CFOs at a time when the platform witnessed an advertiser flight – so losing billion dollars – after taking on Musk last yr.
