Web database of movies has modified its rating system for the newly released live-action The Little Mermaid amidst “remarkable electoral activity.”
The Directed by Halle Bailey The video is rated 7/10 on the location. But a few grumpy users — also often called review bombers — allegedly give a Disney film negative rankings for no good reason.
“Our review engine has detected unusual voting activity for this title. To take care of the credibility of our rating system, alternative weight calculations were used,” reads the memo on The Little Mermaid web sites in the US, Canada, UK, Brazil and Mexico.
IMDb continues its activities Often asked questions page“While we accept and consider all user votes, not all votes have the identical impact (or ‘weight’) on the ultimate rating.”

“If unusual voting activity is detected, an alternate weighting calculation could also be applied to take care of the reliability of our system,” the statement reads.
IMDb further stated that it could not disclose how the brand new method would generate a rating to make sure it “stays effective”.
The Post contacted IMDb for comment.
