Chinese manufacturer of electrical vehicles Nio Inc. lowered its fourth-quarter delivery forecast, citing supply chain disruptions resulting from the Covid-19 outbreaks.
Nio now anticipates delivering between 38,500 and 39,500 electric vehicles within the fourth quarter of 2022, down from an initial estimate of 43,000 to 48,000 vehicles, in response to a Tuesday press release.
The corporate’s shares fell on Tuesday after the announcement.
The corporate cited supply chain disruption brought on by Covid-19 outbreaks in major Chinese cities that slowed operations in December. Because of this, Nio customers have experienced delivery delays and registration issues. The corporate said in November that it goals to cut back customer wait times.
Despite the losses, Nio’s third quarter was good when it comes to production and sales. The corporate recorded a 33% increase in revenue over the previous yr and continues to forecast strong demand for its recent models.
Last week, Nio launched two recent electric SUV models, the EC7 and ES8. In keeping with the corporate, recent models might be launched in May and June.
