Pete Davidson has unveiled a rare update on his plans to convert the old Staten Island Ferry he bought with fellow funnyman Colin Jost right into a floating nightclub – but hardcore fans could have to attend some time to board.
Davidson, 29, admitted he was “down” with the $280,000 purchase, but said it was just yet another reason they desired to proceed with their nostalgic grand scheme.
The ‘Bupkis’ star said she saw detailed computerized mock-ups of the shuttle’s interior plans during an appearance on Seth Meyers’ Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers podcast.
“We just built all the sets up and had them do one in all these computer-generated ‘show what might be’ things, and now we’re for a pair of individuals,” he told Meyers. “Looks like things are going well, but that is definitely in five years.”
Davidson and Jost, who were born and raised on Staten Island, bought the decommissioned ferry for $280,000 last yr with plans to show it into an entertainment and comedy venue.
“There shall be a restaurant, there shall be a concert hall, there shall be a cinema … after which there shall be hotels in it, so we could have a number of of them,” Davidson said.
The inside shall be completely gutted to remove the former passenger bench-style seating that New Yorkers once sat on while commuting to work by the sea, but Davidson said the exterior will remain largely true to the iconic orange ship.

“Every little thing will remain the same – the same on the outside,” he said. “We’ll keep what we are able to and just repurpose it, make sure that it’s pretty, nevertheless it’ll be the Staten Island Ferry.”
Like many New Yorkers, former SNL castmates are hoping to do a “snowbird” style arrangement for his or her shuttle.
They need to dock their ferry in New York from April to September or October, then bring it to Miami for the winter, Davidson said on the podcast.
The King of Staten Island actor’s detailed updates on the ship’s plans are a dramatic change from his remarks about the shuttle earlier this month.
“I don’t know what is going on on with it,” he said when asked about the reworked prom at the Transformers: Rise of the Beast red carpet premiere on June 5. “Me and Colin they were very wasted a yr ago and acquired a ferry. And we fix it.”
Davidson added that he wasn’t even sure if the boat sank or was still floating.

Meyers also noticed the change.
“Wow, you actually thought it through,” the night host told Davidson
“We have now to because we’re down,” replied Davidson. “Colin called me and said, ‘Hey, are you able to jump on that decision about the shuttle? I believed, “We’re still doing this?” He says, “Yeah, it’s pretty serious.” And that is! I had no idea, just saw the link and deposited and now I’m stuck with a ship like this.”
Earlier this month, 40-year-old Jost broke the record and he said he was “sober as a rock” after they decided to purchase a ferry.
“We’re excited to prove non-believers improper,” the “Weekend Update” co-host said in an Instagram post. “You may be BEGGING to get on that ferry in two years. Mark my words.”
It looks like beggars could have to attend a further three years to leap ship, in response to Davidson’s latest update.
Ferry news comes out around the same time Page six reported only that Davidson checked himself into rehab in Pennsylvania after battling borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
