Suspected pedophile and former fashion mogul Peter Nygard has been arrested on more sex offense charges, this time in a 1993 case where he was accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at his company’s Canadian headquarters.
Winnipeg, Manitoba, police obtained a warrant on Monday for the arrest of Nygard, an 81-year-old native of town, after months of investigating the 30-year-old.
The disgraced principal has been charged with two latest charges for sexual assault and illegal detention.
He was arrested on the Toronto South Detention Center where he has been in custody since December 2020 after dozing in Winnipeg on a short lived arrest warrant for US crimes.
The Winnipeg Police Service said it will not release more details concerning the 1993 case until it went to court.
Nevertheless, accuser April Telek he told CBC News on Tuesday that Nygard raped her and held her captive after he invited her to work as a model in 1993.

She said his recent arrest “looks as if an excellent victory” but “it isn’t a whole victory because I still have sisters who are usually not being held accountable for the damage he has caused them.

Police launched an investigation into Nygard in June 2020 and later referred eight cases to Manitoba prosecutors who didn’t file criminal charges against him.

The case was then referred to Saskatchewan Justice for independent review in December 2020, the outlet reported.
Nygard can also be facing similar criminal charges in the US, Toronto and Quebec.
The style mogul was first arrested in Winnipeg in 2020 after facing nine charges – including sex trafficking – in Recent York.

He has since been transferred to a Toronto facility after receiving charges there.
Nygard has been accused of luring at the least 10 women to his home in the Bahamas with guarantees of money payments and lucrative modeling opportunities.
