PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan is taking a leave of absence as he recovers from an illness, the organization said in an announcement late Tuesday, just days after the tour announced a business combination take care of the Saudi-backed LIV golf league.
“Jay Monahan has informed the PGA Tour Policy Board that he’s recovering from a medical emergency,” the statement said. “The board fully supports Jay and appreciates anyone who respects his privacy.”
