Prince Harry bemoaned the “painful” headline that apparently celebrated his breakup with Chelsy Davy as he continued his second day of testimony in the continuing lawsuit against the Each day Mirror on Wednesday.
Through the second day of questioning by Andrew Green, who represents the defence, the Duke of Sussex questioned a November 2007 Sunday Mirror article entitled ‘Bravo, Harry dumped’ detailing the breakdown of his affair with Davy. in response to SkyNews.
“[The headline was] painful to say the least,” Harry Green, 38, told a London courtroom.
“Such a non-public moment was became a little bit of laughter.”
In his testimony, the red-haired royal also disagreed with an article about a visit to the Amika nightclub in London’s Mayfair.
“I went to this particular nightclub… several times, but as I said before, my moves were never meant to be publicly known. They were deliberately kept secret for security reasons, so how did they know? he asked.

Harry – who currently lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle and two children – is suing Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for damages on the grounds that its reporters allegedly used phone hacking and other unethical means to acquire information about him.
In his testimony, he reiterated that the data within the article about his antics in nightclubs struck him as “suspect”.
Nonetheless, Green identified that the same article appeared on the duvet of the News of the World on the identical day.

The lawyer also argued that the headline “Hooray, Harry quit” didn’t mock the breakup, but was a spin on the partying of the then 23-year-old prince.
“In case you have a look at the article, it says she [Davy] got uninterested in your “hooray” lifestyle,” said Green, in response to CNN.
Green dismissed Harry’s suggestion that MGN reporters used phone hacking to uncover details of the breakup, and noted that Davy modified his Facebook status to “not in a relationship” across the time of each stories.

“If it really happened. I doubt she would have done it then, my lord,” Harry replied.
Prince Harry and Davy, now 37, met in 2004 and dated on and off until around 2010.
On his first day on Tuesday, Harry blamed the prying eyes of the press for the collapse of their relationship.

“She was a former girl who now has her family and the method is as worrying for her because it is for me,” he added on Wednesday.
Davy married hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott in early 2022 and gave birth to their son Leo a couple of months later.
At one point during Wednesday’s proceedings, Green needed to remind Harry of his position during his testimony.

“Can I just reiterate that it is not about you asking me questions, it’s about me asking you questions,” barked the defense attorney because the prince dismissed his claim that the 2008 article about his military service was “a matter of legitimate public opinion. interest.”
Prince Harry – who left the royal family with Meghan, 41, in 2020 – is predicted to spend most of Wednesday on the stand.
He made his first court appearance on Tuesday after missing the opening of his trial on Monday. He was reportedly celebrating his daughter Princess Lilibet’s second birthday before flying to the UK.
