Welshing in his duties?
Prince William, 40, lags behind his father when it comes to serving as Prince of Wales, according to royal expert Sir Huw Thomas.
Thomas, the late Queen Elizabeth II personal doctor, during a recent speech, he claimed that the 74-year-old King Charles III was “essentially the most attentive” Prince of Wales “in history”.
“[William’s] he has a great distance to go in terms of public perception of him as the Prince of Wales,” Thomas said on Tuesday on the Hay Festival in Powys, Wales, per GB news.
He continued: “I actually have a feeling there might be a bit of a boost in William’s relationship with Wales after the coronation. We’ll see what it brings.”

The Post contacted Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment.
After the Queen’s death in September on the age of 96, William became Prince of Wales and Charles became King of England.
The monarch was officially crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in a grand ceremony that has made history.
it meant official transfer of power to King Charles after his mother’s 70-year reign.

At Tuesday’s event, Thomas explained that Charles cared deeply for Wales when the monarch was acting as Prince of Wales.
According to Thomas, who recently published Charles: The King and Wales, during a trip to Japan, Charles persuaded a Sony executive to open a factory in Wales.
“Charles told this guy, ‘Should you’re going to open a TV factory in Europe, come and open one in my country, Wales.’ That phrase is something that has passed through Sony folklore,” recalls Thomas.
“Definitely, until the time of Charles, there was no Prince of Wales who paid as much attention as he did to understanding Wales and Welshness.”
Charles also spent a period studying Welsh culture and language at Aberystwyth University, GB News reports.

Thomas noted that William, who lived in Wales when he served within the Royal Air Force, was starting to adjust to his recent role within the royal family.
“Perhaps there’s an emphasis on mental health or outdoor initiatives now,” Thomas said. “It’s a little more targeted to be certain William is seen doing things that suit him.”
He said William had made many trips to Wales since becoming Prince of the Country.
William and his wife, Kate Middleton, visited Anglesey and Swansea just weeks after Queen Elizabeth’s death, according to People.
This marked their first visit as the country’s recent prince and princess.
Thomas identified that the couple had recently visited Aberfan, the positioning of the 1966 mining disaster.

Thomas’ remarks follow last month’s report claiming Middleton, 41, stole her father-in-law’s attention once they visited the Chelsea Flower Show in May.
Some royal pundits have been “alerted” after Middleton’s surprise appearance appeared to overshadow the king and queen’s detention, according to DailyMail.
“It’s a pity that his visit with [Queen Camilla] received less information than he may need expected,” said one of the informants. “I hope they don’t seem to be too disillusioned.”
