Prince William and Princess Anne are set to take over the reins from Queen Camilla as she’s set to jet off on a fast vacation following a busy few weeks.
King Charles’ wife is claimed to be “exhausted” from having to take on an additional workload following her husband’s cancer diagnosis, and will probably be heading on a sunny getaway this week, The Sun reports.
Camilla, 76, has taken on 13 official engagements solo since news of the King’s ailing health got here to light.
She’s going to now spend a couple of days of personal downtime to get away from all of it, before returning to the royal fold on March 11 on the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
Camilla last week led the royal family at a memorial service for King Constantine of Greece at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, after the Prince of Wales, 41, mysteriously pulled out on the eleventh hour.
“Although she was not expecting to find herself within the position of leading the family, the Queen is totally prepared to do whatever needs to be done for the institution,” a source close to Camilla told the Sunday Times.
“She has been buoyed by the general public’s response. She has found reserves of energy that even she didn’t think she had, and the estimation of her by those contained in the palace has soared as she has put her shoulder to the wheel.”
One other insider added, “Her Majesty is powerful, positive, and determined to keep going while the King is off public duties. The King is proud and pleased to see the show is being kept on the road by the Queen and the broader family.”
William will now take on an additional workload as well as Anne, the Princess Royal, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
The King’s siblings are scheduled to appear on the Rising Brook Community Church, Savoy Chapel, the Right Stuff Amateur Boxing Club, National Equine Forum, and more outings while the Queen is on her break.
Though he’s mostly been taking care of his wife, William was seen hanging out with “It’s At all times Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney last week.
