Meatpacking’s most beautiful latest project and arguably the most costly office space will soon emerge from behind scaffolding at the busy intersection of Ninth Avenue and West 14th Street.
Tavros development company, led by Dov Barnett and Nicholas Silvers, is completing work on 50 Ninth, a set of distinctive 19th-century townhouses next to the Old Homestead Steakhouse.
The duty was to exchange the dilapidated facades with original brick and old brick from across the United States on either side of Ninth Avenue and 14th Street, which will be used for retail.
The project also features a latest BKSK-designed nine-story, 57,000-square-foot glass-fronted boutique office constructing positioned behind the townhouses.
The fifth floor has already been leased to Sole Source Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm.
The asking rent for the 6,000-square-foot floor was $180 per square foot, considered the highest in the area.

A deal can be said to be in the works for a luxury automotive brand on one other floor, where “ask” is a record price of $215.
Clark Finney, Howard Hersch, Robin Olinyk and Macy Parana from JLL represented Tavros as a part of the Sole Source lease.
Tavros acquired the corner property in 2014.
The team can be behind The Dime, a large-scale, mixed-use project in Williamsburg.
