Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was evaded the overall prison population and enjoyed special advantages akin to air conditioning and cable television during his temporary stay at Fox Hill, in line with a Wednesday report.
Bankman-Fried, who agreed to be extradited to the US on Wednesday after eight days within the infamous Bahamas prison, was held with a handful of other inmates in the ability’s sick wing. reported Bloombergciting anonymous prison officials.
He was given his own crib within the rat- and vermin-infested facility, which the press said was a “luxury” in comparison with other prisoners. Bankman-Fried also had access to air conditioning “from the inspector’s office nearby, in addition to running water and a rest room.”

The 30-year-old crypto trader “spent his days watching TV news and reading articles about himself.” Bankman-Fried was also “allowed to do crossword puzzles” for entertainment.
The report said that the picky Bankman-Fried was “received vegan food” along with more standard foods akin to grits and sausage for breakfast and corned beef and chicken wings for lunch.
Officials told Bloomberg that individual guards had been assigned to observe over Bankman-Fried and that a health care provider was examining him twice a day.

Representatives for Bankman-Fried and Fox Hill officials declined the ability’s request for comment on his accommodation.
The ex-billionaire’s quarters seemed posh in comparison with other inmates at Fox Hill – which the warden once described as “unsuitable for humanity”.
Doan Cleare, acting corrections commissioner at Fox Hill, told Bloomberg that Bankman-Fried “seemed reassured and optimistic” about his extradition to the US and wished prison staff “Joyful Holidays” before leaving the ability for trial.

Last 12 months, the U.S. State Department released a report on potential human rights violations at a site where “prisoners removed human waste with buckets.”
The report detailed “overcrowding, poor nutrition, inadequate sanitation and inadequate medical care” and noted that “some prisoners developed pressure sores from lying on the bare ground.”
Conditions could have played a job in Bankman-Fried’s quick turnaround from his previously indicated plan to fight extradition. Upon arrival within the US, he can be held in federal custody.
