Sydney Sweeney revealed this week that her dad “walked out” during her X-rated “Euphoria” scenes because she “didn’t prepare” him for the exciting content in HBO series.
“I mean how do you begin a conversation?” she explained on “Sunday Today with Willie Geist“. “Besides, after I talk to my dad, it isn’t normally about work … we’re talking about father-daughter conversations.”
Unbeknownst to her, the “The White Lotus” star added, her dad had invited her grandparents to watch.
“My dad and grandpa turned it off and left,” the 25-year-old actress admitted.
However, her grandmother is a “huge fan”.
“I normally take her from all around the world to my various sets and make her an additional,” said Sweeney, who noted that her mum was the just one “prepared” for rough scenes after visiting the set.
Sweeney – whose engagement was recently embroiled in controversy amid rumors of an affair with her ‘Anyone But You’ co-star Glen Powell – previously revealed her grandparents’ response to the season two premiere of ‘Euphoria’.
“They said I had the perfect t-ts in Hollywood,” Ellen DeGeneres said in March.
The blonde bombshell also opened up to UK GQ about her nude scenes, discussing her frustration with the audience.
She said some viewers took screenshots of her X-rated performances and tagged her family members online.
“My cousins don’t need it. It’s very disgusting and unfair,” the two-time Emmy nominee said in a 2022 interview.
She criticized, “You will have a personality who goes through the scrutiny of being sexualized in school, after which an audience that does the identical.”
But just a few web trolls won’t stop her from starring in more nude scenes.
“I believe it’s funny. I’m an artist, I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more,” added Sweeney, who once said she was “ostracized” as a young person due to her larger breasts.
She said she was actually “proud” of her work Independentdespite the fact that critics ignored it because she “undressed”.
“When a man has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and is praised,” she argued. “However the moment a lady does it, it’s completely different.”
