The upcoming Paramount+ series A fatal crush-starring Lizzy Caplan, Joshua Jackson and Amanda Peet—will leave its first two episodes on April 30, the streamer announced on January 9.
A fatal crush is described by Paramount+ as a “deep revival” of the classic 1987 thriller through which Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Anna Archer within the roles now played by Caplan, Jackson and Peet respectively.
“The recent series will explore fatal crushes and the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity,” says the streamer, “through the lens of up to date attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control.”
Alexandra Cunninghamwho previously worked with Peet on Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Storyacts as showrunner and author.
“[The show] is about how some people just cannot win,” Cunningham said A fatal crushPanel of the Television Critics Association, January 9. “It’s about self-image and what we’ll do to guard it, and what happens when someone doesn’t have it. And if we did our job that these actors and their colleagues surely did, they think your sympathies will change more than once.”
