WASHINGTON — The White House has postponed a Pride Month party with singer Betty Who scheduled for Thursday night as smoke from the Canadian wildfires swept the nation’s capital.

The Pride event wasn’t the only major outdoor event postponed Thursday in DC, as the Washington Nationals postponed their scheduled afternoon game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The White House said the Pride event can be rescheduled to Saturday, the same day as the annual Capital Pride parade in Washington, D.C. – which is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned.
