The company, which owns the exclusive rights to salvage the historic wreck of the Titanic, is holding a memorial service for its former worker and deceased Titanic passenger Paul-Henri “PH” Nargeolet – a day after the debut of its newest Titanic Expo in Paris.
RMS Titanic Inc., which has been granted exclusive rights to recuperate artifacts from the Titanic wreck site, has shared on social media that it plans to carry an event in Nargeolet’s honor on Wednesday from 1:30am to 2:30am EST.
There shall be a private, personal memorial ceremony which shall be closed to the general public, although it’ll be streamed live freed from charge via the RMS Titanic Inc website. on Facebook “to supply an outlet for the worldwide Titanic and Oceanography community to recollect our colleague and friend and express our sadness together,” wrote the corporate wa Facebook post.
The memorial takes place a day after the corporate’s Paris debut of “Titanic L’Exposition”, which seems to have the backing of the Nargeoleta family.
Nargeolet’s daughter, Sidonie, spoke on Tuesday at a panel on the opening of the exhibition.
“My father desired to work so long as possible,” she said, based on a video clip from the panel sent to Twitter. “He enjoyed sharing his passion and introducing people [to his passion]”.
Nevertheless, Nargeolet’s longtime friend David Concannon will not be thrilled with the memorial service.
Concannon – who has served as formal legal counsel to each RMS Titanic Inc. and OceanGate – said Initiate that he won’t be on the party.
“I shall be attending a different, more appropriate ceremony to commemorate PH,” he wrote in a statement to the outlet.
“The timing of the event in Paris, so near the opening of a industrial exhibition of artifacts there, is unlucky.”
RMS Titanic Inc. shared behind-the-scenes photos of “Titanic L’Exposition” through the installation process.
The company’s latest exhibit includes “a charming 360-degree room that can take you on an immersive journey aboard the Titanic,” RMS Titanic Inc. tweet shipped on Tuesday.
The Post contacted RMS Titanic Inc. for a comment.
Nargeolet, affectionately generally known as “Mr. Titanic” was commissioned by RMS Titanic Inc. in 2007 to recuperate artifacts from the famous wreck and served as director of underwater research, in response to RMS website.
Between 1987 and 2010, RMS Titanic Inc. conducted eight research and salvage exhibitions, collecting over 5,500 artifacts from the so-called “unsinkable ship”, which reached its final frontier on April 14, 1912.
The recovery attempt was controversial, with critics arguing that the positioning and its inhabitants needs to be left untouched out of respect.
Apparently Nargeolet disagreed, since since 1987 he had made greater than three dozen expeditions to the wreck 12,500 feet below the surface of the North Atlantic before boarding the ill-fated submarine OceanGate Titan.
Nargeolet, 77, is believed to have died together with 4 other passengers on June 18 when the ship suffered a “catastrophic implosion” lower than two hours after diving on the Titanic.
