Director Paul King recently revealed that Dune the actor didn’t need to audition to land the lead role of Willy Wonka within the upcoming musical Wonkathat follows the story of a chocolate tycoon. In actual fact, King revealed that Chalamet’s golden ticket was on account of his singing and dancing talents.
“It was a straightforward offer because he’s great and he was the just one who could do it,” said King A rolling stone in an interview published on July 11. “But because he’s Timothée Chalamet and his life is so absurd, his highschool music performances are on YouTube with a whole bunch of hundreds of views.”

“So I knew, rooting for Timmy Chalamet, that he could sing and dance rather well,” added King. “And I knew it was in his arsenal, but I didn’t know the way good he was. Once I spoke to him, he was very eager.”
