Airports Council InternationalThe industry association of world airports recently published its annual rating of the world’s busiest airports.
The list was dominated by the United States, with half of the airports in the top ten situated throughout the country.
Airports Council InternationalThe report noted that despite the increase in passenger numbers, the number of people that traveled in 2022 was still lower than the figures before the Covid pandemic in 2019.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport topped the list of the world’s busiest airports for the second 12 months in a row. The airport saw a rise of 23.8% to 93,699,630 passengers in 2022.
The one 12 months Atlanta wasn’t the busiest airport in the past 4 years was 2020, when ATL ranked second behind Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in southern China.
Hartsfield-Jackson also serves as a serious hub for Delta Air Lines.
Dallas/Fort Value International Airport ranked second on the list with 73.4 million passengers in 2022. Texas Airport has seen a rise of 17.5% since 2021, but a decrease of two.3% since 2019.
The airport is American Airlines’ largest hub. DFW is the second largest airport in the United States by area, after Denver International Airport, in accordance with DFW data Department of Transport.
DFW is so big that it even has its own zip code. It occupies a bigger area than the entire Recent York island of Manhattan, in accordance with the data NASA.
Denver International Airport rounded out the top three on the list. The Colorado facility served 69,289,461 passengers in 2022, a rise of 17.8% from 2021.
Unlike the two largest airports, DEN saw passenger numbers increase by 0.4% in comparison with pre-pandemic in 2019. The airport is a serious hub for each United Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
Denver International Airport has also been certainly one of the 20 busiest airports in the world every 12 months since 2000, in accordance with Port Authority of Recent York and Recent Jersey.
