We live in a golden age of conspiracy theories, most of which must be taken flippantly.
Mossad killed Jeffrey Epstein in his prison cell – where he was left alone for days to take into consideration his fate as a toddler abuser?
I do not think so.
AMC meme stocks losing money and preparing the mother of all dilutions being manipulated by a cabal of bad hedge funds?
Sorry, but AMC stocks don’t need inheritance help.
Nonetheless, interesting rumors began to spread last weekend in the run-as much as the Manhattan District Attorney’s indictment of Alvin Bragg over Donald Trump, our former president, who is running again: The indictment is a plot by a partisan Democratic prosecutor to get Joe Biden re-elected in 2024 .
Again – I do not pay much attention to conspiracy theories, but this one deserves attention.
Big GOP donors want fresh blood at the highest of the ticket.
Trump’s defeat in 2020, the defeat of most of his handpicked candidates since then, and his damaging behavior (January 6 and way more before and after) scare away most voters aside from the GOP base.
They think anyone – anyone – on the GOP side can beat Sleepy Joe in 2024 except Trump: are you able to imagine Biden attempting to wriggle out of bungling the border, withdrawing from Afghanistan and “transient inflation” against someone as sharp as Ron DeSantis ?
Unlike Trump, the Florida governor is self-conscious enough to let Biden discover the trail to defeat on the talk stage.
Most astute people in the Democratic Party agree that Biden is exposed to anyone except the guy in the recent news.
This is why one major GOP donor and government affairs manager at a serious financial firm I spoke to believes that “Bragg and the Democrats are doing this to get Trump to win” the GOP nomination.

Rally around Ron
And he isn’t alone, based on other conversations with Republican associates in recent days. Yes, big money is still attempting to amass around DeSantis because they’re so eager to win the presidency, the House of Representatives and the Senate in 2024, which they consider might be forfeited if Trump is nominated.
But they see their best probabilities of winning slip away. Last Wednesday, after the spectacle of Trump’s indictment and Bragg’s unconvincing explanation, panic really gripped them: base voters began pouring in to Trump with donations, and if the polls are to be believed, their support makes him the clear favorite for the nomination.
As for the broader constituency: The identical polls show Trump exhaustion, thirst for fresh blood at the highest of each tickets, which is why Biden’s individuals are using Bragg to make Trump the GOP candidate, donors tell me.
Not that Trump cares that he puts himself and the party in danger in 2024. His upcoming presidential campaign is already a self-centered exercise in holding on to results.
Yes, he looked sullen in the courtroom on Tuesday, but should you know him, you furthermore may know that he loves attention as he pushes DeSantis and other likely challengers out of the news cycle for the foreseeable future.

“Let ’em go” Bragg
This will help secure him a nomination, but not much else.
That is to not say that base voters haven’t got reason to be offended. Alvin Bragg is the extremely least credible prosecutor in the country to bring this case.
He is a declared opponent of law enforcement, a fanatic supported by George Soros.
It allows criminals to walk the streets of Manhattan to terrorize hard-working Recent Yorkers in the name of “social justice.”
Recall how last 12 months we described the town’s business community’s anger at its policies that turned a blind eye to the prosecution of violent crimes; average people working in the financial sector riding the subway were randomly murdered.
Subway crime statistics haven’t improved since then because of Bragg.
As for his indictment against Trump, it is a dumb case unless your motive is anything apart from justice: the mere $130,000 silently Trump allegedly paid years ago to a porn star to cover a tryst is not a criminal offense price many years prison, far less of Bragg’s perverted allegations.
Again, take this conspiracy theory seriously. Note that little is said about Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley or Mike Pompeo in the media in the times following Bragg’s gambit with Trump.
That is what Trump likes.

Same goes for Alvin Bragg and Sleepy Joe Biden.
