Ignore letters, what about numbers?
Wheel of Fortune’s list-turning Vanna White is negotiating a deal to stay on the beloved game show after the 2023-24 season, Puck News reported on Thursday.
He also reportedly wants a payout the scale of Pat Sajak because the longtime host is about to retire at the top of the upcoming season 41.
Puck says White, 66, has been earning $3 million a season for 18 years, receiving bonuses, not raises.
It appears she hired Bryan Freedman to represent the beleaguered, short-lived “Jeopardy!” host Mike Richards, and Puck reports that Freedman “hit hard on the difficulty of the pay discrepancy with Sony, in addition to possible gender discrimination regarding White’s pay.”
in 2016 Forbes reported that the 76-year-old Sajak earned $15 million a 12 months from the show.
Actually their roles are different. White leaves the daunting task of player interactions up to Sajak, and his pathetic interactions have raised eyebrows currently.
The Post contacted Wheel and White for comment.
The report comes after an unidentified whistleblower allegedly told the Day by day Mail last week that White feared being forced out of her role when Sajak retired.
The duo have been the face of “Wheel” for over 40 years, with Sajak joining the series in 1981 and White a 12 months later.
Fans are rooting for her to take over Sajak’s job as other stars including Andy Cohen, Whoopi Goldberg and Stephen A. Smith have declared they’d love the chance.
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and Sajak’s daughter Maggie, who joined Wheel in 2021 as a social media correspondent, were also mentioned as candidates.
As for Sajak, he already has a recent job as president of Hillsdale College, a private, conservative college in Michigan.
