Sony Pictures Television (SPT-K) announced Thursday that it plans to create a spin-off of the long-lasting game show “Wheel of Fortune”, but will adapt the challenges to children and younger viewers.
“Sony Pictures Television has such a wealthy history with features that we could play with and reinvent, introducing a whole latest generation of kids to them.” – Joe D’Ambrosia, executive vice chairman and general manager, SPT – Kids, told The Hollywood Reporter.
While the main points of the brand new game show are unclear, it has been reported that several challenges will include physical and comedy challenges to assist contestants earn the list.
The post contacted Wheel of Fortune for comment.
“Our mission is easy and clear,” explained D’Ambrosia, adding that Sony goals to turn into “the perfect content creator for youths.”
Fans of the sport show have revealed that this will not be the primary reincarnation of the syndicated game show for a younger demographic.

“Wheel of Fortune Kids Article Fix” tweeted one die-hard fan. “In reality, there was already a children’s version of WOF. It was called “Wheel 2000” and aired on CBS Saturday mornings in 1997 and ’98. Some episodes are on YouTube.
“As a kid within the ’90s, I remember one other time they tried to do a kid’s version of Wheel of Fortune” tweeted second person.
A couple of users weren’t thrilled with the large “wheel” announcement.

The 76-year-old host has a well-known popularity for being rude and sometimes condescending to competitors.
Last week. Sajak mocked the contestant’s high-pitched scream after she won a whopping $10,000.
“Wow, you do not play much poker, do you,” Sajak scolded after a big win.
Some of Sajak’s recent bizarre behavior includes strangling a fighter, claiming to be hiding in Vanna White’s garden, who spins letters, asking a fighter to take his shirt off, and pulling a fighter by the beard.
As of Sunday, the new edition of “The Wheel” has no official release date.
