She felt warm.
Fans of Wheel of Fortune were amazed by the player’s unlucky puzzle-solving skills that prevented her from winning life-changing money on Friday’s episode of the long-running game show.
Contestant Micki was only three letters away from solving a mystery within the “Thing” category – and he or she had already landed on a $1 million wedge, in addition to on vacation in Croatia.
The native Louisiana live studio audience supported her when longtime host Pat Sajak instructed her to choose the following letter.
The plaque read: “ROWING FIRE ON FIRE _ _ A _ E.” The unsolved word was “FIREPLACE”.
But Micki clearly upset the live studio audience when she asked Sajak to place an “S” on the board, which appeared like an incorrect answer buzzer.
“You’ve a response. No ‘S’, sorry,” Sajak said of the gang’s consternation.
Micki’s blunder left one “Wheel” fan wondering on Twitter whether her blunder was higher or worse than other recent blunders.
“Wheel of Fortune Survey… Worse mistake in recent memory…” one user examined online, referring to a mistaken guess during Teen Week. “A) Fregh … B) Fireplace … I might select B since it modified the entire game.”
On this episode, contestant Khushi was one letter away from traveling to Antigua when she incorrectly solved a board that said “FRE_H TROPICAL FRUIT”.
Twitter users accused the teenager of “out of the zone” and omitting the seemingly obvious “FRESH”.
“The tropical fruit one also modified the sport. It was a prize riddle so she missed the vacation too,” one other fan replied.
A contestant can compete for $1 million within the bonus round if he lands on a $1 million wedge during regular play, solves the puzzle, and wins the sport. This amount is placed in a single of the bonus round envelopes.
Official programme TikTok website revealed last week that only three contestants won the $1 million prize. The present version of the series has been broadcast since 1983.
Also last week, fans of “Koło” roasted the contestant for her lack of knowledge cheesy bagel filling.
